Death Knight Guide

Wrath of the Lich King introduced WoW's first hero class, the Death Knight and this class has a lot to offer. Depending on where you choose to spend your Talent points, you can play a melee fighter, a caster or a mixture of the two. You have the advantage of wearing plate and you will start at level 55 with a full complement of armor and a mount. There are a lot of people out there playing Death Knights, but few people stick with it past level 60. The issue is that this is a class that does require a certain amount of proficiency from the player and finding a good Death Knight guide is essential. Nubun WOW Guide can give you a hand up on playing Death Knights so see what they have to offer.

First, remember that you need to be have a level 55 character on the server before you can play a Death Knight; they don't call it a hero class for nothing! This means that if you don't have a level 55 character on the server yet or if you want to start fresh with a brand new server, you are going to need to look into some fast leveling. NubunWOWGuide.com offers to show you how to level a character from level 1 to level 80 in 8 days and this is one of the best rates out there unless you happen to be a professional WoW player! This guide can help you get to where you need to be when you want to get ready to roll up a Death Knight.

Also remember that you are looking at a class that wears plate and casts. There are definitely contradictions there and you have three different talent trees to choose from. Blood offers you healing abilities, while the Frost tree lets you maintain both caster and melee status. With the Unholy tree, you are mostly going to be a caster and on top of that, there is a ghoul that you can deploy as your tank. Which tree is going to be best for you and which one matches your play style? Take some time and look at how Nubun leveling guide can advise you on all of these issues.

It is still important to remember that even when you are searching for a Death Knight guide that you are going to need to look for a leveling guide as well! Level 55 is barely more than halfway through the game, and with so much good development going into Outland and Northrend, there is a world of content out there for you to explore. If you want to know what zones are best going to suit your purposes and if you want to take your Death Knight to level 80, check out Nubun Guides

Tanking as a Death Knight In WoW

Posted on 2010-01-21

When you are playing World of Warcraft, there is a good chance that you are going to be drawn to death knights. These former heroes fell under the thrall of Arthus and broke away, returning to the Horde or to the Alliance with a wide array of deadly skills. The class was designed as a hybrid damage dealing/tank class, and if you are interested in tanking as a death knight there are a few things that you need to keep in mind.

Death knights are no popular tanks, so keep in mind that when it comes to a raid situation, the paladins and the warriors are likely going to be more popular than you are. This is generally due to the fact that you do not have a shield, and a perception that death knights tend to lack experience with tanking. Getting over this prejudice is tough, but it can definitely be done, so just keep going. Getting the experience is only a matter of time, after all!

When you are looking at getting the attention of the mobs that you need to destroy, you have four abilities for doing so. Blood Boil and Army of the Dead are likely going to be the ones that you choose for the purpose, and you will discover that different ones will be beneficial for different situations. Unless you want to make sure that you want the attention of everything in the area, choose Blood Boil over Army of the dead.

When you want to hold the aggro that you have created, you have three different spells for doing so. Pestilence, Death and Decay, and Frost Presence are all great for doing so.

Many death knight tanks prefer Frost Presence for tanking and it increases your armor my 60%, your health by 10% and it increases the threat that you generate by 45%. This may be your most important contribution to tanking in a large group. This can also free you from needing to hold a shield, and you will be freed up for two handed weapons.

In a tough situation, you will also find that Pestilence is helpful, as it will spread all existing disease from the targeted enemy to all nearby targets as well. While it no longer does shadow damage, it has a very low cost, which means that you can cast it as soon as soon as the spell cools down. Matching Pestilence with Blood Boil can be a good way to make sure that you are going to be center of attention.

Death and Decay, while great for threat generation, is also an expensive cast. Save it for fights with more than 4 mobs, and the other two first.

Take some time to learn more about what it takes to tank as a death knight. The death knight class is surprisingly versatile when you know what you are doing, so make sure that you also check out what a death knight guide can tell you!
