Death Knight Guide

Grouping With Your Death Knight

Posted on 2009-11-23

After Wrath of the Lich King Came out, it seemed like everyone was trying out WoW's new hero class, but now that the dust has settled a little bit, most people are ignoring their level 58 Death Knights and have gone back to their old classes. If you are still playing a Death Knight, though, you'll find that this is a class with plenty to offer you.

Death Knights can be great tanks or damage dealers, and this is an important thing to keep in mind when you are working in a group. However, if you are coming to the Death Knight class from a ranged fighter class, though, there are definitely things that you need to keep in mind.

First, remember that when you are playing a Death Knight, you'll always do better damage if you can get behind the mob that you are fighting. When you are behind the mob, you don't have to worry about it blocking you, parrying your blow or just dodging you. While you can't do this if you are soloing, its very possible when you are in a group. This can make a lot of difference in difficult instances.

Another thing that you need to remember when you are playing a Death Knight is that you should keep your diseases up at all times. Diseases for Death Knights are like curses for a Warlock. The more you have up, the better off you are going to be. You can find macros that will help you keep them up, so consider which ones will help you.

If you are playing a Death Knight, even if you are specced for melee, remember that you can still do some good when it comes to aggro. This is something that you need to remember when you are faced with a mob that is running; you do not want it to bring back every mob in the place on its way back!

This is where Death Grip can come in handy. Mobs that run can lead to a nearly immediate party wipe, and on occasion, you may have a tank who can't deal with caster because they are not in line of sight. Because you are going to be wearing plate, you'll find that you are a far better candidate for taking aggro and holding until help arrives than a cloth wearing class.

When you are interested in playing a Death Knight, there are plenty of ways to go about it. Remember that finding a good Death Knight guide can help you out a great deal, and that you should definitely see what tips and tricks that you can learn to better your damage output.
